The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in collaboration with the World Bank, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), launched the National Agricultural Sample Census (NASC) after three decades in Abuja. The census revealed that Nigeria has about 40.2 million agricultural households, with 91% practicing crop cultivation, 48% livestock farming, and 5% engaged in fishery.
