“Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to aiding young farmers and investors with land clearing, preparation, and agricultural mechanization to ensure food security and reduce unemployment. Speaking at the 37th Lisabi Day celebration in Abeokuta, the governor, represented by Deputy Governor Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, highlighted the success of the state’s Anchor Borrowers Scheme, which has supported over 40,000 agripreneurs. The theme of the celebration, “Encouraging Youth Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness: Panacea for Solving Youth Unemployment in Egbaland,” reflects the governor’s focus on youth empowerment for agricultural development.
Governor Abiodun noted that Ogun State is a significant global producer of cassava, with notable achievements in cassava production, poultry farming, fish production, and animal husbandry.
The Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, praised the festival’s success and thanked Egba sons and daughters for their financial contributions. He announced plans to support Egba indigenes through Lisabi palliatives and educational assistance for students. SOURCE- Vanguard
