The Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) project has donated 100 different species of economic trees to the Women Farmers Association in Bauchi State. This initiative aims to promote tree planting for environmental protection and beautification, marking a significant step in addressing climate change challenges.
The donation occurred during a training organized by the Bauchi State College of Agriculture (BASCOA) for the Women Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative Society, focusing on backyard farming to encourage tree planting and ownership among women in the state. Dr. Ibrahim Kabir, State Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, highlighted the importance of including women in the “One Person One Tree” initiative, emphasizing their critical role as stakeholders in environmental management.
