Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State announced plans by the Dangote Group to set up a major rice mill in the state, aiming for an annual capacity of 500,000 metric tons of rice paddy. The mill will be situated between Wushishi and Bida local government areas. Governor Bago disclosed this during a commemorative lecture marking his first year in office at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre in Minna. He mentioned discussions with Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the President of the Dangote Group, in Lagos, where agreements were reached, including delivering five hundred 40ft empty containers from Dangote.
