Enugu Farmers Tasked to Increase Food Production as 1,200 Get Free Rice Seeds

The Enugu State government, in partnership with Ellah Lakes Plc and Adani SCPZ Food Company, has distributed free Faro 44 rice seeds to over 1,200 farmers at Adarice Farms, Adani, Uzo-Uwani LGA. This initiative aims to boost rice production and support the agricultural and economic prosperity of the community and state. During the event, 100 farmers received 25kg of high-quality rice seeds and were enrolled in a training program on sustainable farming and modern planting methods. Patrick Ubru, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro-Industrialisation, emphasized Enugu’s potential for rice cultivation and the goal of becoming a top rice producer.
