Farmer Begins Milling Local Rice In Bayelsa

Mr. Ovieya Sini, managing director of Ovieya Rice Farm in Bayelsa State, has initiated local rice production in the Famgbe community, Yenagoa Local Government Area. Currently cultivating 15 plots, he aims to supply rice to Bayelsa and the Niger Delta region to enhance food availability. Despite facing challenges such as flooding and pest attacks, Sini’s hard work led to a successful harvest during the 2023 Christmas season.
