The Federal Government has begun distributing N2.8 billion worth of agricultural inputs to 14,000 farmers in Anambra and Enugu states under the Agricultural Transformation Agenda Support Programme (ATASP-1). The inputs, procured at a cost of N5 billion but subsidized to N2.8 billion, include fertilizers, seeds, and agrochemicals. This initiative, part of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme Agro-Pocket, aims to boost agricultural productivity and food security across Nigeria.
Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, emphasized that the program supports the Federal Government’s goal of achieving food sufficiency and socio-economic development.
