The Federal Government of Nigeria has secured a N65 billion loan from the African Development Bank to enhance agricultural productivity, focusing on staple food crops in both dry and wet seasons. The initiative, under the Policy Base Operations (PBO) initiative funded by the African Emergency Food Production Facility (AEFPF), aims to roll out across all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) over the next two years. The National Agricultural Growth Scheme (NAGS) seeks to improve food production, stabilize commodity prices, and support small-scale farmers.
The ministry is committed to rectifying any shortcomings in the 2023/2024 Dry Season Wheat Production program, emphasizing adherence to guidelines and promoting transparency.
