“The Nigerian Agribusiness Group (NABG) is advocating for the adoption of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) to tackle climate challenges affecting the agricultural sector. Director General Jafar Umar emphasized the urgency of integrating resilient and regenerative agricultural practices into national strategies. He highlighted that CSA is essential for sustaining farm productivity and securing farmers’ livelihoods amidst climate change threats.
Arc Kabir Ibrahim, Chairman of the Administrative Board of NABG, emphasized the pivotal role of the Climate-Smart Agriculture Framework in Nigeria’s agricultural landscape. He stressed the importance of disseminating framework outcomes across all 774 local government areas, ensuring farmers receive training in their local languages. Ibrahim underscored the need for precision agriculture to optimize productivity and ensure food security not only for Nigeria but for Africa as a whole, amidst rising population pressures and climate uncertainties.
