The Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP) is a significant boost for the agricultural sector, positively impacting over 30,000 farmers. By providing mechanization services, fertilizers, seedlings, agrochemicals, and training, the initiative enhances productivity and food security. The project’s focus on off-taker linkages ensures market access for farmers, facilitating an expected yield of 107,000 metric tonnes. Such comprehensive support not only improves livelihoods but also strengthens the agricultural value chain, fostering economic growth. The strategic collaboration with Value Chain Development Firms like RBS-JDPC-ABEOCCIMA Consortium and IBAD Limited underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in driving agricultural innovation. The distribution of high-quality inputs and capacity-building efforts are essential for adopting best practices, ultimately leading to sustainable farming and wealth creation.
