A leading contender for the governorship position under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state, Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, has vowed to address unemployment and poverty by leveraging agriculture in the state. Oke made this commitment during his ongoing tour of the state’s 18 council areas ahead of the party’s governorship primary on April 25. He pledged to revitalize the agricultural sector and use it as a tool to combat unemployment and poverty if elected governor in the November 16 election.
During his visit to Okitipupa and Ondo East council areas, Oke engaged with the APC unit, ward, and local government leaders, along with members from all 13 wards in Okitipupa. He received a warm reception from a large crowd of party leaders at the Civic Center in Bolorunduro, the headquarters of the Ondo East council area.
