Ali Maihula, a farmer in Bali Local Government Area, reported heavy rainfall this month, prompting farmers to kick-start their preparations by transporting manure to their lands. Maihula emphasized the efficacy of local manure in enhancing crop yields, noting its increasing usage alongside chemical fertilizers.
However, Maihula expressed concern over rising costs of tractor rental, fertilizers, weed chemicals, and pesticides, which could potentially impact the affordability of agricultural produce. He highlighted the challenges farmers face in repairing tractors due to double spare parts prices.
Ibrahim Dauda echoed similar sentiments, advocating for government subsidies in agriculture to alleviate the financial burden on farmers.
