As the rainy season approaches, the Niger State government aims to enhance agricultural productivity by acquiring additional tractors and user-friendly implements. The Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Musa Salihu Bawa Bosso, disclosed plans to subsidize fertilizer and chemicals, addressing farmers’ concerns about affordability. Bosso emphasized the state’s commitment to mechanized farming, highlighting the procurement of tractors, planters, and harvesters for each local government area, totaling 250,000 hectares of cultivated land.
