The Nigeria Women for Agricultural Progressive and Development Initiative (NWAPDI) has withdrawn from the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) due to poor inclusion of women and ongoing leadership disputes within AFAN. National Coordinator Omolara Svensson stated that despite efforts to address these issues, NWAPDI will now focus on its mission to empower women in agriculture independently. NWAPDI, the only registered women-only agricultural initiative in Nigeria, aims to create a more inclusive and progressive platform for women farmers and drive meaningful change in the agricultural sector.
