Yobe partners World Bank to train 178 extension workers

The Yobe State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, supported by Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL), has trained 178 agricultural extension workers from 17 LGAs. The two-day workshop, held in Damaturu, was part of the State Agric Revitalization Committee’s recommendations and funded by ACReSAL, a World Bank-assisted program. Commissioner Ali Mustapha Goniri highlighted the state’s investment of over N15 billion this year in agricultural inputs and equipment. Each extension worker will receive a motorcycle for better mobility. ACReSAL’s Shehu Mohammed emphasized ongoing capacity building to incorporate modern and climate-smart techniques into agriculture.
